Our Client, non- profit organization whose mission is to provide access to effective literacy instruction for struggling readers, particularly students with language-based learning disabilities.
The Executive Director is responsible for providing program oversight and leading the organization towards the achievement of its mission and growth objectives. Accountable for designing and directing strategies that support and enhance operations, as well as providing effective leadership to all staff. Manages budget and funding strategy.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
-Leads the strategic planning process, periodically reviews strategy and drives changes as necessary.
-Identifies potential opportunities to advance the institution's growth and recognition.
-Monitors results from the Reading Clinic, Readers for the Future, Teacher Training and educational events.
-Collaborates with the Academic Director to best define and plan academic program offerings.
-Monitors Readers for the Future program results and data collection.
-Organizes professional development events for teachers
-Ensures that IMSLEC and IDA accreditations requirements met.
-Plans and coordinates logistics associated with SOSET team visit for accreditation purposes.
-Manages the Reading Clinic teachers' performance evaluation process and compensation programs.
Staff Supervision/Financial Management
-Oversees and supports the efforts of the Academic Director to ensure optimal program results.
-Manages MRC's budget and oversees accounting operations, including bank accounts, accounts payable, insurance contracts, and service contracts, as well as purchases.
-Manages the Employee Health Care Plan and the Insurance Policy and oversees Government licenses and official documents.
-Supervises the Reading Clinic marketing efforts for the academic year and summer programs.
-Hires professional service contractors and employees as needed to meet operational needs.
-Oversees and / or manages various administrative tasks in relation to the Reading Clinic
Fundraising
-Oversees and supports fundraising efforts to ensure targets are met
-Identifies possible donors and grants and prepares or reviews proposals.
-Maintains strategy for donor management and retention.
-Collaborates with the Board of Governance in planning and organizing the annual fundraising event
-Manages Global Giving Crowdfunding platform
-Ensures compliance with documentation requirements pertaining fundraising results and use of funds.
Communications
-Handles communication and reporting to BOD members.
-Maintains relationships with partner schools.
-Manages MRC website and content updates.
-Meets with other OSFL leaders and donors to establish opportunities for collaboration and growth.
-Supervises social media and communication efforts to optimize reach and awareness of programs.
-Works with the Readers for the Future supervisor to coordinate special events.
RequirementsCompetencies
- Master's degree required
- 5+ years of experience in literacy as a teacher, coach, and/or trainer in reading instruction
- Experience providing interventions in the area of literacy to all level students
- Teacher coaching and training experience
- Experience with proposal development
